Our Call Centre

Our call centre is based in our Sunderland Head Office on the second floor.  Home to a team of sales and service advisors, sales advisors and apprentices, it is a constant buzz of excitement.

Like any call centre there are a number of KPI’s to hit, but it is rare that our dedicated team do not hit these, due to the unwavering support from the call centre management team, daily competitions and weekly incentives.

We have an in-house training team too, all situated in the same building for ongoing coaching and support.

Why are we different?

Many call centres see a high turnover of staff, but we pride ourselves on our high retention rates here at JTC. Many apprentices have grown with the company and now sit in more senior roles across different parts of the business – those that do leave have often moved for a complete change of career, such as joining the police force!

All our Directors and senior management team have an open door policy, and it isn’t odd to see them grabbing a coffee or eating their lunch in the kitchen. Out ethos of treating customers fairly translates into our team too, with all members at all levels treated with respect, listened to and valued. We will do all we can to help support you in the development of your role.

We believe in recruiting internally, and giving our employees the right tools to develop and flourish within their roles. Every Monday we have a team meeting where you are provided with any key updates, stats and this week’s competition. We also offer daily incentives for hitting different KPI’s. In 2023, our call centre even have the opportunity to win an all-inclusive holiday to Tenerife for two, £500 spending money, a free Travel Insurance policy and taxi transfers to and from the airport. All they have to do for their chance to win a seat on the plane, is come to work and deliver 5 star customer service.  There are regular team building opportunities in terms of social events, meals, escape rooms and even the odd game of bingo! We even have days where breakfast and/or lunch is paid for.

 

Career Progression

 

Within our call centre we have the following roles:

  • Apprentices
  • Sales Advisor
  • Sales and Service Advisor
  • Training
  • Call Centre Manager

Most of our staff start as Apprenticeships where they will complete their level 2 NVQ qualifcation.  Upon completion, they then have the opportunity to work towards their NVQ Level 3.

We also offer a range of other qualifications from:

  • Industry specific qualifications (Financial Services / Insurance) such as Cert CII
  • Team Leader courses
  • Management courses

Customer Service Advisor Apprenticeship

As a customer service advisor you will provide first-class sales and customer service to our current and prospective customers looking for Travel Insurance. The starting salary is £10,400 working a total of 40 hours per week. You will also be entitled to our bonus scheme as well as an additional Apprenticeship bonus.
