Travel Insurance for Vision & Sensory Conditions FAQs
Which vision or sensory conditions can I get cover for with my Travel Insurance?
At Just Travel Cover, we offer specialist Travel Insurance for conditions affecting the vision like cataracts and glaucoma, as well as sensory conditions such as deafness or hearing loss. These are just some of the many pre-existing medical conditions we can cover to help you travel with confidence no matter your age or medical history. If you can’t see your condition listed, feel free to get in touch with us on 0800 294 2969 and we’ll be happy to help.
I have recently had surgery for a vision or sensory condition. Do I need to declare this on my Travel Insurance?
Yes. If you’ve recently had surgery for a vision or other sensory condition, it’s vitally important to declare this on your Travel Insurance. This is to protect you financially if you need to seek treatment abroad, be repatriated home, or have to cancel your trip altogether due to a change in health or other unforeseen circumstances. Any conditions which you have been diagnosed with previously must be declared when taking out your policy initially to ensure any later claims are valid.
Is there an upper age limit for Travel Insurance for vision and sensory conditions?
No. At Just Travel Cover, we pride ourselves on offering Travel Insurance policies with no upper-age limit for hundreds of different pre-existing medical conditions. That’s because we believe everyone should get to experience the joy of travel, no matter their age or medical history. Whether you’re looking for glaucoma Travel Insurance over 65 or Travel Insurance with cover for cataracts over 80, we’ll be happy to help.
Do you have to declare cataracts on Travel Insurance?
Yes. Cataracts are considered a pre-existing medical condition and must be declared on your Travel Insurance. It’s important to declare cataracts on your policy at the beginning to ensure any claims you may make later are valid. This could be if you need to seek treatment abroad in a medical emergency, or your condition deteriorates requiring you to need assistance abroad or be transported home.
Can I still get cover if I have been diagnosed with hearing loss?
Yes. You can still get cover if you’ve been diagnosed with hearing loss. We’ll just need to ask you a few questions about your condition to make sure we match you with the right insurer/s for your needs. Visit our Travel Insurance for deafness and hearing loss page for more information.
