Singapore Cruise Travel Insurance

Prepare to Soak up The Sights of Singapore

For those looking to explore Southeast Asia and beyond, Singapore Cruises offer a fantastic way to experience some of the world’s more far-flung destinations. Whether you’re interested in visiting Thailand, Vietnam or Malaysia, cruises to Singapore offer a range of diverse itineraries to satisfy your wanderlust. To help you focus on enjoying your travels, we offer specialist Travel Insurance for Singapore Cruises so you can set sail with peace of mind, knowing you’re prepared for the unexpected when it comes to travel and medical expenses.

Why do I need Singapore Cruise Travel Insurance?

Most cruise lines now consider cruise-specific Travel Insurance a requirement for all passengers, making it important to secure cover before you embark on your adventure. If you happen to be cruising with any pre-existing medical conditions, it’s even more important to secure specialist cruise insurance that covers your conditions. This is to prevent you from paying costly medical bills should you need to receive treatment. All pre-existing medical conditions must be declared when taking out your policy initially, in order to avoid any later claims being rejected.

The Importance of Cancellation Cover with Singapore Cruise Travel Insurance

Taking a cruise is often a more expensive, carefully planned trip compared to a normal holiday abroad. With all the costs and associated planning involved, it’s important to make sure you have adequate cancellation cover should you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. These could be due to sudden illness, injury, or bereavement, which can be stressful enough to endure, without worrying about the financial losses. Having cancellation cover in place helps you recover the costs of your cruise, which would normally be non-refundable when cancelling without insurance. That way, should anything unexpected arise requiring you to cancel, you won’t lose out on your investment.

At Just Travel Cover, we offer up to £12,500 cancellation cover as standard. Alternatively, for those who have booked a higher-value cruise, our Top-Up Cancellation adds on an additional £50,000 cover per person upon referral, bringing you added peace of mind. For your protection, we advise securing Travel Insurance as soon as you have booked your cruise, so that your cancellation cover starts right away. We also advise ensuring your cancellation cover is more than enough to cover the costs of your holiday, and encourage you to give us a call on 0800 294 2969 if you are unsure whether you need additional cover.

What Cruise Lines Go To Singapore?

For Singapore cruises, there are a range of different operators available, with popular choices including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Disney Cruise Line. These typically visit destinations such as Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, with a range of different experiences on offer including family-friendly voyages, premium-destination focused cruises, freestyle cruising options, and luxury, all-inclusive experiences. Whichever provider you choose, make sure to research any Cruise Insurance Requirements and be prepared to demonstrate your compliance to ensure smooth sailing.

Some additional tips to help plan your Singapore cruise:

  • Comfort is Key: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for hotter, more humid temperatures, and light layers for indoor areas, which are often heavily air-conditioned. Comfortable shoes are also an essential for exploring on-land.
  • Check Seasonality: February-April typically offers the best time to take a Singapore cruise, with drier weather, lower humidity, and more sunshine. From May-September, you may be able to get lower prices, but with these come the higher chance of rain and high heat.
  • Consider Shore Excursions: For first-timers, consider city highlights tours covering Marina Bay Sands, Merlion Park, and the colonial district. Alternatively, immerse yourself in culture and visit the vibrant streets of Chinatown, or head to the UNESCO-listed Singapore Botanic Gardens on-land.

Do I need to declare pre-existing medical conditions to get Travel Insurance for a Singapore cruise?

Yes. You need to declare any pre-existing medical conditions when taking out any Travel Insurance policy, including those for a Singapore cruise. This is to ensure that, should your symptoms flare-up and you need to access treatment abroad or at sea, you can do so without incurring costly medical expenses. At Just Travel Cover, we help travellers find cover for hundreds of medical conditions, including heart and circulatory conditions, cancer, autoimmune diseases, mental health conditions, digestive conditions, respiratory illnesses, and more. Speak to one of our Travel Insurance experts on 0800 294 2969 if you’d like to discuss your specific needs.

Do I need to declare each destination on my Singapore Cruise Travel Insurance?

This depends on the type of Travel Insurance policy you buy. For Annual Multi-Trip Policies, you can simply select ‘Worldwide’ and this should cover all destinations as part of your cruise. If you’ve selected a Single-Trip policy, however, you’ll need to list all the countries you’ll be visiting on your cruise to make sure your cover is valid for all destinations.
