Secure your Travel Insurance for Tenerife ASAB
It’s important to arrange Travel Insurance for Tenerife as soon as you book your holiday. This ensures you are covered should you need to cancel, which may just give you that extra peace of mind you need to relax. You’ll also be covered for your baggage if it is lost or stolen, and emergency medical treatment you may need abroad. Our Tenerife Travel Insurance policies also cover repatriation should your stay in hospital mean you miss your scheduled flight back, or if you need to travel home in an emergency.
When securing your Travel Insurance for Tenerife, don’t forget to declare any pre-existing medical conditions, no matter how minor they may seem, so that you are properly covered. Failing to declare any pre-existing medical conditions could make your policy void.
Travel Insurance for Tenerife FAQs
Do you need Travel Insurance to go to Tenerife?
Travel Insurance is not a legal requirement when travelling to Tenerife. However, it is highly recommended that before jetting off on any holiday, you’re adequately covered. Not only does Tenerife Travel Insurance protect you against unexpected medical bills, but also offers protection for cancellation and lost or stolen luggage. Taking holiday insurance to Tenerife with you gives you not just financial protection but added peace of mind to help you relax and enjoy your holiday. Always check your policy wording for exclusions.
Do I need a GHIC or EHIC for Tenerife?
Yes, it is worthwhile taking your GHIC card with you on your next trip to Tenerife. The GHIC card allows non-EU citizens to access the same medical care as a Spanish citizen free of charge or at a reduced cost. We must also stress the importance of also taking out an adequate Travel Insurance policy which covers any and all medical expenses up to £15 million per person, as the EHIC/GHIC is not a substitute for Travel Insurance.
Is Tenerife in Europe for Travel Insurance?
Yes. For annual policies, Tenerife is classed as Europe. If you’re taking out a single trip policy for Tenerife then you simply need to select either Spain or the Canary Islands to ensure you’re protected whilst on holiday.
Will Travel Insurance for Tenerife cover any activities?
Travel Insurance for Tenerife does cover some activities, but not all. At Just Travel Cover, all activities under Pack A come as standard with our Travel Insurance policies. This includes activities such as snorkelling, hiking (under 2,000m altitude), beach games and golf. If you’re planning on taking part in any activities not listed under Pack A or B, give us a call on 0800 294 2969.
Is Tenerife classed as Spain for Travel Insurance?
Yes. Tenerife is Spanish territory and is one of the Canary Islands. It’s also classed as Spain for Travel Insurance purposes. When purchasing Annual Travel Insurance for Europe, most annual policies should cover your trip to Tenerife, although it’s always recommended to check with your specific insurer. When purchasing single trip Travel Insurance for Tenerife, select the Canary Islands or Spain, rather than the territory you are visiting.
