Travel Insurance for Women’s Health Conditions FAQs

Which women’s health conditions can I get cover for with my Travel Insurance?

Anything pertaining to a pre-existing medical condition can be covered under Travel Insurance. These include hormonal conditions like underactive thyroid and female-specific conditions like endometriosis. While menopause and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are not classed as medical conditions, we can still help find a tailored Travel Insurance policy that meets your needs. If you’ve visited a GP about menopause within the last 5 years and have received any treatment, it’s best to declare this on your policy to ensure any claims are considered if a complication was to arise later.

I suffer from endometriosis. Do I need to declare this on my Travel Insurance?

Yes. Endometriosis is classed as a pre-existing medical condition, meaning it would need to be declared on your Travel Insurance. Arranging Travel Insurance for endometriosis is important, as the condition can be painful and unpredictable, especially if you experience a flare-up while you’re away. It also includes cancellation cover, protecting the cost of your holiday in the event your condition worsens and you have to cancel.

Do I need to declare Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) on my Travel Insurance?

No. You are not required to declare medication to us but we do need to know the name of the medical condition your medication is treating. Provided you have told us the name of the medical condition HRT is treating, your policy would consider a claim should an event arise.

Is there an upper age limit for Travel Insurance for women’s health conditions?

No. As with all our Travel Insurance policies, we provide Travel Insurance for women’s health with no upper age limit, so that everyone regardless of age, gender, or health status can visit their dream destinations. Whether you’re looking for over 50s Travel Insurance or Travel Insurance over 80 and beyond, we’ll be happy to help you find a policy that suits your needs.

Do you have to declare underactive thyroid on Travel Insurance?

Yes. Underactive thyroid (or hyperthyroidism) is considered a pre-existing medical condition and will need to be declared during your medical screening for Travel Insurance. Declaring such conditions is important to help us find an insurer who can meet your needs, and ensure you can access the right medical treatment abroad in an emergency without suffering the costs.
