What does Travel Insurance for over 55s include?
Our policies for travellers over 55 include the following as standard:
- Up to 365 days’ cover for single-trip policies, and 93 days per trip for annual multi-trip policies (terms apply).
- Emergency medical expenses up to £15m
- Up to £12,500 cancellation cover as standard (can be extended by an additional £50,000 per person with our Top-Up Cancellation Cover).
- Repatriation – the costs of bringing you home in a medical emergency
- Baggage cover up to £3,500
- Missed departure cover up to £1,500 per person
If you are planning on any activities during your trip, we can offer add-on cover such as our Winter Sports extension. Make sure to specify these when getting a quote so we can arrange any extra cover needed.
Where can I go with over 55s Travel Insurance?
Provided your insurance covers the destination/s you are visiting, you should be able to travel to most places with over 55s Travel Insurance. Note that you will not be able to go to any countries where the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against travel. Some insurers also specify a maximum number of days you can travel and be insured for depending on your age, so it’s always advisable to check the policy wording carefully.
Can I get Travel Insurance over the age of 55 if I have pre-existing medical conditions?
Yes. You can get Travel Insurance over 55 with pre-existing medical conditions. These will need to be declared in full on your policy to protect you against expensive medical bills abroad should you need treatment in an emergency.
